Self Defense Products

I was a stranger to self defense products before an incident hit a little too close to home. My younger brother was a victim of a mugging on his way home from a concert in Bristol, a few towns over.

Pete told us the terrifying account of how he was held at knifepoint in an abandoned parking lot. Thinking only of preserving his life, he gave the robber his cash, his mp3 player and his mobile phone.

He arrived safely home but looked so troubled that we were concerned. Reassuring us that he wasn't harmed, he went on to say that he regretted not fighting back or having some defense weapons with him.

Since I was his older sister, I was afraid that he'd be hurt if he went up and brawled with a criminal. I promptly explored the World Wide Web for details about self defense products.

We looked over multiple gadgets and discussed how each could have helped him in his situation. I suggested that some hidden cameras in the parking lot could have assisted the cops in apprehending the mugger. And he offered that a personal alarm might have discouraged the thief.

Our mother discovered our newfound fascination in self defense products and wanted to get some for the family. She bought some stun guns and some pepper spray. Another purchase was safety lights ideal for when we had to leave the house at night.

The experience with my brother made sure I always had somebody accompany me home from work. And when it was unavoidable that I was out alone, I made sure to have my self defense products handy.

I'm wishing that they remain unused and that nothing happens that would compel me to wield one. But I know I'm prepared for anything.
